A mill held by Hugh Mustel c. 1326, may have been the Slate Mill, on the River Chelt, at the boundary between Boddington and Leigh, which was held at farm in 1585. (fn. 247) By 1707 it was part of Westminster Abbey's estate, (fn. 248) and was held by lessees of the abbey in the mid19th century.
